What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small file placed onto user's computer by Apparutas. It contains data specific to a particular client and device. The cookie file can be accessed by the web server to enable Apparutas to verify the identity of the user and allow access tailored to that user.

Does Apparutas use cookies and what types of cookies does it use?

Yes, the current release use only persistent cookies. We plan to include advertisement in the near future as an added service to Apparutas so for that to work, we will need to use session cookies, more on that later...

What is a persistent cookie and what does it do?

A persistent cookie helps us recognize you as a loggedin user, so it's easier to return to Apparutas without having log in again. After you log in, a persistent cookie stays in your browser and will be read by Appatutas when you return to the site.
