Adding Grid Table Columns

Apparutas Grid Table has an array of Column Data Types to handle all of your reporting requirements. Ingeniously designed Data Types has simplify the process of adding columns to the grid. The process of adding columns to the grid is the same for both Parent and Child Grid Tables. Notice some Column Data Types require their compatible Plug-Ins for them to work. See below a complete list of supported Column Data Types.

  • Text
  • User ID
  • Date/Time
  • HTML Link - require Hyperlink Plug-In module
  • Image
  • Image Link - require Hyperlink Plug-In module
  • File Download Link - require File Hyperlink Plug-In module
  • Add Button - require Data Entry Form Plug-In module
  • Edit Button - require Data Edit Form Plug-In module
  • Delete Button
  • Adding columns to the grid require the mapping of the SQL Query selected fields to the Column Data Type. Notice, SQL Query fields are NOT re-usable meaning they will disappear from the field list after added to prevent duplication.

Figure 1: Adding Column Data Type->Text

Text data type is for handling and displaying text related data inside grid column cells. If the column is filled with numeric data, you can optionally perform simple mathematical calculations such as COUNT, SUM and AVERAGE on the column simply by checking the checkbox of the functions you want to use.
Limitation: Unfortunately, COUNT, SUM and AVERAGE functions can be applied to only one of the columns if your grid contain multiple numeric columns. We plan to implement support for multiple columns in our next update.
